We, the concerned residents and dedicated citizens of Valley Center, Kansas, stand united against the proposed zoning change for the property southeast of Ridge Road and 85th Street (Valley Center, KS 67147).

Our community, with its suburban charm, serene atmosphere, and strong sense of togetherness, is something we all cherish. Unfortunately, a proposed zoning change threatens the very essence of what makes our neighborhood special.

The current RR-1 zoning, carefully put in place, has been instrumental in preserving our quality of life, protecting our property values, and nurturing the unique character of our neighborhood. It's what we've come to know and love.

Now, a change to an A-1 agricultural designation is being considered for the property southeast of Ridge Road and 85th Street. This change could disrupt the peace and integrity of our community. We value development, but we believe that this zoning change, in this specific location, is ill-advised. It could bring increased noise, traffic, and potential nuisances that just don't fit with the character of our neighborhood.

I firmly believe that our current RR-1 zoning should be upheld to protect our community's unique residential quality. We understand the need for development, but it must be done thoughtfully, in a way that balances growth with the preservation of our way of life and property values.

In the face of these concerns, I urge you to join me and our community in expressing our strong opposition to this zoning change. We have initiated this online petition to ensure that our voices are heard, and our concerns are taken into account during the decision-making process.

We call upon the Valley Center City Council to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the potential impact of this zoning change on our neighborhood and the rights of its residents.
