The Issue

We are a group of Concerned and Affected Residents of Subang Jaya SS14 (CAREs) who are opposed to the proposed elevated road project from Jalan Lagoon Selatan to Subang Kelana Jaya Link/Persiaran Kewajipan.

The project was first highlighted to the residents on 19 May 2023 followed by a second presentation on 13 October 2023 by the proponents. However, there was little clarification on details of the plan; leaving most of us very concerned.

Based on what we know from the presentations, the flyover will be built in parallel to Jalan SS14/2. So this will affect the neighborhood with issues like more noise and pollution. Traffic congestion will worsen along the affected Persiaran Kewajipan stretch that has only 2 lanes. Additional burden on the traffic load is likely to have a cascading impact for traffic to NPE and traffic coming from USJ and the Kesas highway as well.

It is in our view that this proposed project does not bring any single benefit to SS14 and Subang Jaya. The location chosen will worsen traffic jams especially at peak hours and does not improve road safety.

There has to be a better holistic long-term approach for traffic planning that will enable residents of Subang Jaya to have a safe and pleasant drive along Persiaran Kewajipan. We wish to highlight to the authorities to do their part to ensure development plans are logical and practical for Subang Jaya.

Do not allow more inflow of traffic into Persiaran Kewajipan.

Divert traffic out of Persiaran Kewajipan as it is heavily congested.

Join us in our support to make Subang Jaya a better and vibrant place to commute and to live in. As described by MBSJ, Subang jaya is a lively, high spirited, energetic, friendly, green and smart city.
