I am a resident of Winchwen, and the proposed large-scale development at our beloved Hengoed Court Care Home concerns me deeply. This development project threatens to transform our close-knit community into a sprawling commercial center. The project comprises of the construction of 124 apartments, a 7-unit assisted living facility, commercial floor space, a central hub building, and office spaces. We suspect it is propelled by corporate greed rather than the genuine welfare of the community.

As residents and community members, we take pride in our neighborhood. The proposed development would drastically alter the landscape of our home and could negatively impact the lives of the elderly inhabitants at the care home. We strongly urge our local authorities to reconsider this decision and prioritize the community's need. Preserving the intimate spirit of our neighborhood is essential. We must work toward supporting sustainable, community-focused development rather than allowing corporate interests to destroy the character of our home.
