Stop the Passing of Bill C-39

Stop the Passing of Bill C-39
The Issue
I'm writing this because this is something I care about deeply and it won't happen without the support of people like you. Starting a petition isn't something I would normally do, but I was moved to do so because the Canadian federal government has decided to delay MAID (Medical Assistance In Dying) for the mentally ill for an entire year.
My daughter Savannah suffers terribly from a mental illness and is in pain on a daily basis. She made the choice to apply for MAID when eligibility opened up on March 17, 2023. The government took that choice away from her, and infringed on her human right to not be discriminated against. If you have a serious physical illness which you suffer grievously from, you can apply for MAID, and in most cases, receive it. But, if your illness is a mental illness, the government expects you to suffer intolerably for another year. That in a word is DISCRIMINATION!
If Bill C-39 (MAID Expansion) passes, Canadian citizens suffering grievously from a mental illness will be ineligible to apply until March 17, 2024. The current Canada suicide rate of 4,500 people annually, in my opinion, will probably double as a result of this delay.
Every member of Parliament, and every Senate member, because of their voting choices, will be directly responsible for each and every death.
The Senate's next sitting date is March 7, 2023 which is only twelve (12) business days away. It has been indicated that Bill C-39 is a top priority for the senate members, and their goal is to fast track the approval process before the March 17th deadline. There are 105 Senators and they have to be contacted by phone to let them know that you're against the passing of Bill C-39. Fellow Canadian lives are riding on this! This link will give you those numbers. At this point in the game, email will be too late. https://sencanada.ca/en/senators/
I know I'm not alone and together we can make this change happen. Please sign and share! https://www.change.org/p/stop-the-proposed-delay-of-bill-c-39
