STOP! the proposed 400 home subdivision plan in American Farms
The Issue
Our American farms rural community is facing a disturbing reality. Yet again another proposed subdivision plan is threatening to disrupt the peaceful rural life we have always known. This is not just our story; it is the story of many rural families whose livelihoods and way of life are being undermined by unplanned urbanization. Currently, over 20% of our nation's farmland/rural land is threatened by urban encroachment. We have sadly already seen what has happened on the east side of the farms by Nichols Lake and what is happening with Liberty Farms. The majority of the plan is 1/4 acre lots on septic, a total of 399 more homes. The site is 125 acres from SA Jones Rd off Chimney Rd. The infrastructure of our neighborhood cannot withstand that many more houses, people, traffic, noise, septic systems etc. We urge local authorities to reconsider the proposed subdivision plan and take action to preserve rural communities, farmland and wildlife. We may not be able to stop them from building, but we can ask that the lot size stay to 1 acre lots. This will at least decrease the impact on our neighborhood. Take a stand, voice your concern, and help safeguard our rural landscapes not only for us but for future generations. Please, sign this petition.
