We, the residents of Wandsworth, oppose the Conservative proposal to increase council tax by 160%.

A rise of this scale would place an unacceptable financial burden on families, pensioners, working people and households already struggling with the rising cost of living.

Wandsworth residents should not be expected to pay the price for political decisions or failures in council finances.

We call on Wandsworth Council to:

•Abandon the proposed 160% council tax increase.
•Protect residents from unaffordable and excessive increases.
•Find responsible savings and efficiencies before asking residents to pay more.
•Be fully transparent about the council’s finances and how taxpayers’ money is being spent.
•Listen to residents before making decisions that could have a major impact on household finances.

Wandsworth is our home. We work hard, pay our taxes and deserve a council that respects the financial pressures residents face.

160% is too much. Wandsworth residents cannot afford it and we say NO.
