As a resident of Falkirk district, I have been directly affected by the distressingly high costs of living, as have my family and countless others. Our council tax gives us little in return - the town centre is filled with empty shops, brown bin charges are being implemented, and bins are emptied merely once a month. Now, more salt is about to be added to our wounds with the Falkirk District Council's proposed council tax increase of an outrageous 15.6%, the highest in Scotland. This potential blow will force us to work far beyond reasonable hours simply to juggle astronomical bills, instead of enjoying the value of our hard-earned money. This should not be life in Falkirk.

Yet, we have a chance together to influence this alarming turn of events.
