Petition to:

FIFA President Gianni Infantino
The FIFA Council
The 211 FIFA Member Associations
Football is more than a business. The FIFA World Cup is the world’s greatest sporting event and a shared global heritage enjoyed by billions of fans across every continent.

Recent reports about FIFA’s plans to move the commercial rights of its competitions into a new corporate structure with private investment have raised serious concerns. While investment can bring financial opportunities, the governance and future of the World Cup must never be driven by the interests of private investors.

The FIFA World Cup must remain accountable to its member associations, players, clubs, and, above all, the fans—not to shareholders seeking financial returns.

We call on FIFA to:

Reject any sale of ownership stakes that could give private investors influence over the commercial future of the FIFA World Cup.
Guarantee full transparency regarding any proposed corporate or investment structure.
Consult member associations, players, clubs, and supporters before making decisions that fundamentally affect the future of world football.
Preserve the independence, integrity, and public stewardship of the FIFA World Cup for future generations.
The World Cup is more than a commercial asset. It is one of humanity’s greatest sporting traditions—a tournament that unites nations, inspires children, and creates memories shared across generations.

Football belongs to the fans. The FIFA World Cup must never become another asset for private investors.

Sign this petition if you believe the future of the World Cup should remain in the hands of the global football community.
