We are going to ask you to close your eyes and visualize. Imagine that the proponents of a paved Minnesota River Trail actually got their way. The will of the many loses out to the power and connections of the few. Imagine a brand spanking new $15,000,000 or so trail built in a flood plain.
Can you picture it?
Now, look 5...6...7 years into the future. What does that trail look like now?
We'll help you.
The photos in the post in the link are from another local paved trail taken TODAY in a flood plain along a river. Mind you this isn't spring flooding season. It's nearly Fall.
This effort is isn't about "macho" mountain bikers trying to protect their hobby. This effort isn't about keeping anything from anybody.
This effort is about common sense and fiscal responsibility. It's about protecting one of the last major wild spaces in an ever expanding metro area.
