This was posted as a comment to the petition page recently. It hit home for us. We think it will for anyone interested in preservation of the Minnesota River Trail as a natural wonder in the heart of the Metro.
"This area of land is treasure enjoyed as it is by many generations before us, current generation and the next generation. Spend some time on the Natural trails to understand what the culture is in this area, and you will soon realize that changing or commercializing this trail system is absolutely the wrong move. People of minneapolis have an enormous treasure in their trail systems. The best in the nation really. Why do we need more of the same? Those that prefer concrete and blacktop have literally thousands of miles at their finger tips at any time, We need to leave nature alone, and keep the diversity for those that also appreciate nature at its most elemental state possible. By paving a trail in the wild life reserve you literally destroy the heart and soul of this amazing resource."
