Stop the Persecution of Christians in Muslim-Majority Nations:Defend Religious Freedom Now
The Issue
Across many Muslim-majority nations, Christians are facing relentless persecution — from imprisonment and church bombings to violent attacks, forced conversions, and being silenced for their faith.
In countries like Nigeria, Pakistan, Iran, and others, Christian families are being threatened, children abducted, churches demolished, and believers tortured simply for professing the name of Jesus Christ.
On June 22, 2025, a suicide bomber walked into St. Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Damascus, Syria, during evening Mass. Over 25 worshippers, including children, were killed and more than 60 wounded — a brutal reminder that even sacred spaces are no longer safe for Christians.
These are not isolated events. They are part of a pattern of deepening persecution confirmed by global watchdogs like Open Doors, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch. Christians are now among the most persecuted religious groups in the world today.
As concerned global citizens—and as people of conscience—we can no longer stay silent.
We urgently call on:
- The United Nations Human Rights Council.
- The Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief.
- The African Union and European Union.
- The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.
- National governments and global media outlets.
To take immediate action to:
Publicly condemn the persecution of Christians in Muslim-majority countries
Pressure governments to uphold international laws protecting religious minorities
Investigate and report all human rights violations against Christians
Enforce protections for churches, pastors, and Christian communities in danger
Religious freedom is a human right. No one should ever be attacked, jailed, or killed for worshiping Jesus Christ.
We urge the world to rise — not just in prayer, but in bold advocacy.
We are one Body. When one part suffers, all suffer.
Add your voice.
Stand for the persecuted.
Defend the cause of freedom.
Be the voice they cannot raise.
