The Issue

We, the undersigned residents and community members of Georgetown, Kentucky, strongly reject the proposed development of approximately 10 townhomes at 214 Colony Blvd.

This project is ill-advised due to the poor location and the small size of the 1.87-acre parcel. Such a dense development is incompatible with the surrounding established single-family neighborhood.

Our concerns include:

  • Increased traffic and congestion on local roads that are not designed to handle it
  • Strain on essential infrastructure and emergency services
  • Negative impact on neighborhood character due to excessive density
  • Potential decline in property values and financial burdens on current residents
  • Loss of green space and disruption of local wildlife habitat
  • We are not opposed to growth or development in Georgetown, but this particular project does not fit the community’s needs or context.

We urge the Georgetown–Scott County Planning Commission to:

  • Reject this development proposal
  • Prioritize thoughtful, sustainable growth that protects the quality of life and environment of existing neighborhoods

Please sign and share this petition to stand with us in opposing this ill-advised townhome project.
