I’m asking for help in pushing this petition to the next level and the only way I can do that is with support from people like you! People that willing to stand up and say no more! Strong, intelligent people that know what is the right thing to do! The right thing for ALL California’s, not just the Uber rich that can afford anything they want. But also the working poor!

The state of California continues its attack on its citizens with crushing taxes and fees that abound everywhere for everything.I will give one example an RV Airstream trailer here in California costs about $750 dollars a year for registration. While other states charge way less for that same trailer. In Minnesota that same trailer may cost $82 dollars for three years for registration.California’s have become to used to these insane taxes, fees, whatever other names they place on them, people just accept as the cost of life. But it does not have to be.

If we get enough people to say NO, more of this excessive taxation we could stop it. My proposal is very simple and still provides money to the state but puts them on a budget that they must work within. A new car, one to three years old ($300), a car four to six years old ($150), a car seven years or older ($50). And that would be the same fees for any vehicle. Take into consideration the California government voted down suspending the excessive gas tax temporarily. And the state continues to raise fees every year.

I had a 1996 Toyota, Tacoma I had bought while on active duty at Fort Bragg, NC. When I got out of the army the first time and came home I paid $40 dollars to register that truck. I sold the truck to my parents in 2000. The registration then kept going up in price. The last time they paid the registration for the before they sold it was $160 dollar!! And they sold the truck in 2021. So for a 25 year old truck the registration had quadrupled! And I suspect has gone up again since the state loves to tack on fees anywhere they can.

These out of control fees and taxes tacked onto vehicle registrations hurt the lower income people the worst! This socioeconomic level are the hardest working and least paid. These are the people that are barely hanging on in California. They ride that bloody edge of what to spend money on. Between paying out of control fuel prices and out of control registration fees how can lower income people make it here?? For a state that seems dead set on helping people, there are the working poor that are one paycheck away from being homeless with their children. Signing this petition may help to lower these fees for all people and especially for those that are on the bloody edge!! 

We as California’s need to send a strong message and with this is one area we can start with. California has a HUGE SURPLUS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS AND CONTINUES TO RAISE TAXES! Government should not have any more money than is necessary to run the state and have a reasonable reserve for a rainy day. The surplus the state is huge and they have not lowered out taxes/fees in any way.
