The Issue

In 2016, we, the residents of Celebration Way and the surrounding areas such as Jacks Farm Way and some from Aldriche Way, successfully stopped the opening of a cut through from Aldriche Way E4 to Celebration Way E4. This decision was made by LBWF, Met Police and other professionals to protect our community from anti-social behavior (ASB) and the risky transformation of our neighbourhood into a haven for drug activities, like the drugs that were being passed through the fence back then. Now, this issue has resurfaced, leaving us concerned and in search of immediate action.

Allowing this cut through would not only disturb the peace we have strived to maintain, since the new green fence went up, but also reintroduce the illicit activities we once fought hard to eliminate. Our streets, homes, and local environment have become a safer place since the Green fence.  The cut through poses a direct threat to the safety and security our community values deeply.

There is significant anxiety over the potential for increased ASB and drug-related incidents, which can be detrimental to residents and local businesses alike. Highams Park should remain a safe place for families, with children able to play outside without fear, and residents enjoying their daily lives undisturbed by criminal activities.

We urge the local authorities to listen to the concerns of those who live here and reject any proposals to open this cut through. Local safety and wellbeing must be prioritised over convenience.
