The Issue

We, the students of GAU, strongly object to the recent decision by the University Administration to impose an annual tuition payment system instead of the semester-based system.

This change was introduced without prior notice or consultation, and it directly conflicts with the agreements stated in many acceptance letters, especially for international students.

The annual payment requirement places a sudden and heavy financial burden on students, particularly:
 • international students facing visa, travel, and living costs,
 • students depending on installment plans,
 • and those without scholarships or with partial scholarships.

We respectfully request that the University Administration:
 1. Maintain the semester-based payment system for the 2025–2026 academic year, OR
 2. Introduce a gradual transition plan to give students time to adapt, and
 3. Apply the installment plan only to the remaining balance after the registration fee has been paid, not to the entire annual tuition.

We believe this measure, if enforced without adjustment, will harm students’ financial stability and academic success. We call on the Administration to urgently reconsider this decision in the spirit of fairness, transparency, and dialogue.
