For many many years there was a place called Squaw cap and a lovely mountain called squaw cap mountain, home to many many people of many generations. I was raised in the area of robinsonville which is right next to squaw cap but I consider squaw cap to be apart of my home

The name "Squaw Cap" has been part of our history for decades, and it has become intertwined with the identity and cultural fabric of our community.

While I understand that the term "Squaw" has been deemed offensive by some individuals, it is crucial to approach this matter with sensitivity and respect for the diverse perspectives and opinions that exist within our community. Changing the name of Squaw Cap without proper consultation and consensus could inadvertently disregard the historical significance associated with the landmark and fail to acknowledge the heritage it represents

Preserving the name "Squaw Cap" does not mean perpetuating stereotypes or disrespecting anyone's feelings. It is an opportunity to engage in dialogue, promote understanding, and build bridges between different communities.
