Stop the mistreatment of penguins in Kansas City Zoo
The Issue
Penguins in Kansas City Zoo don't have an easy life. Being in the zoo against their will, they suffer even more from the conditions of detention and the terrible attitude of the zookeepers.

ペンギンちゃん has repeatedly fought for the rights of penguins and sent a lot of emails to the Kansas City Zoo. Unfortunately, her e-mails and Tweets were ignored. I would like to thank ペンギンちゃん for her kind heart and work and help with the petition.
What's wrong in the Zoo:
- The pool is so dirty and green. Penguins have to be in a clean pool without algae and other messes.
- The zookeepers don't care about the penguins at all. Feed time is so too short, some penguins are ignored by them, usually Gentoo penguins and King penguins. These penguins need more food, but each time when they go near zookeepers, they didn't get enough fish and remain ignored by zookeepers.
- The penguin who has been bullied since March is only treated when the keeper discovers the injury
The first time he bled from his left leg, he was protected for two weeks.
The second time, when he bled from his left flipper, he was taken to the bag yard for 20 minutes and then returned to this exhibit space
In the meantime, the keepers only examine him when they notice that he's bleeding, but the bullying doesn't stop because they leave the bullying itself unattended.
They don't even separate the individual being bullied from the bully.
They don't pursue what the cause of the bullying is, they don't fact-check, they don't monitor the health of the bully to see if he's alive and well today, and they don't even consider why the bullying individual is being so aggressive.
Zookeepers just wait until the penguins get hurt.
The keepers treat the penguins when they are injured, but do nothing else.
- Too little room for a penguin nest. most of the territory is occupied by the pool, the penguins simply do not have a place where they can hide and build their own nest.
- If a penguin interferes with the zookeeper during feeding or for another reason, he's being simply pushed away with his foot. It is unacceptable.
Furthermore, Kansas City Zoo ignores all e-mails, and messages on Instagram on their page and Tweets. WE DEMAND that this zoo be held accountable and that the conditions for the penguins be improved!
