STOP the Massive Public Land Sell-Off Hidden in the Senate Reconciliation Bill

The Issue

We, the undersigned, demand an immediate rejection of the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee's budget reconciliation bill — released June 11 and updated June 14 — which proposes the forced sale of at least 2 million acres of public land across 11 Western states, and opens the door to selling over 250 million acres in total.

This is nothing short of a corporate land grab disguised as policy.

Under this bill:

Local recreation lands, wilderness study areas, and critical wildlife habitats will be sold to the highest bidder.

Forests that provide shelter to deer, bear, owl, elk, and hundreds of species will be destroyed.

Indigenous lands and sacred ecological corridors will be sold without consent.

The Secretaries of Interior and Agriculture will be given unchecked power to choose what lands are sold, with no requirement for public input or environmental review.

All of this to give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans — while stripping the people of their access to nature, destroying ecosystems, and threatening climate resilience.

This is the largest proposed sell-off of public lands in modern U.S. history.

We say NO.

We demand:

1. Complete removal of all public land sell-off provisions from this bill.

2. Legal protections for remaining public lands to prevent future attacks.

3. Full transparency and public input on any federal land decisions moving forward.

Our forests are not for sale. Our wildlife is not expendable. Our voices will not be silenced.

Signed in defense of the wild and free!
