Stop the Mass Visa Revocations for South Sudanese Nationals - Don’t Send Them into Danger!

The Issue

The United States is on the verge of making a devastating mistake.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders are being revoked, and no new ones will be issued. All because he claims the African nation’s government is “taking advantage of the United States.”

This decision isn’t just policy. It’s a potential death sentence for countless innocent people.

South Sudan is teetering on the edge of civil war. Armed conflict is erupting. The United Nations has called it a "security emergency." Political leaders are being arrested. Entire communities are being displaced. To send anyone back into that is not only dangerous, it’s inhumane.

These are students, workers, families, and children who came to the U.S. in search of peace, safety, and stability. They are not taking advantage of this country. They are surviving. They are contributing. And now, through no fault of their own, they’re being punished.

We urge the Trump administration to immediately reverse this reckless decision. The U.S. must not turn its back on vulnerable people who trusted us with their lives.

Keep them safe. Keep them home—here.
