stop the killing of stray animals in Tunisia 🇹🇳
Le problème
In Tunisia, stray animals—especially dogs and cats—are being brutally killed and mistreated, often by local municipalities. Nightly shootings, poisonings, and cruel handling are common, and all of this is happening without any legal protection for these innocent beings.
Tunisia currently has no effective animal welfare law. Municipalities are allowed to carry out violent “control” operations, often resulting in slow, painful deaths for street animals. This inhumane treatment is not only morally unacceptable—it also violates global animal rights principles.
We, the undersigned, call upon international animal welfare organizations, human rights advocates, and global citizens to:
Pressure the Tunisian government to stop the killing and torture of stray animals.
Demand the creation of a national animal protection law.
Support local activists working to rescue and care for animals.
These animals have no voice—we must be their voice. The time for change in Tunisia is now.
