Stop the Inhumane Treatment of Animals

Stop the Inhumane Treatment of Animals
The Issue

Animals are not just living things that co-exist but they are more than that, they are man`s best friend. Animal abuse, like many other forms of abuse, is about power and control over a helpless victim. In today`s world, the shocking number of cases of animal cruelty that are reported daily is only the tip of an iceberg; the majority of cases are not reported at all. Unlike the violent crimes against people, people have the capabilities to take action, and speak about their problems while animals can`t which making it difficult to calculate just how common they are. Most often reported animals whose abuse are dogs, cats, and livestock. But because of the weak protections afforded by owners under cruelty laws, only the most shocking cases are reported, and few are ever prosecuted. Not just the owners who are, and were affected by the abuse of their animals, but also those who witnessed, and most of them are children. Little research exists on how exposure to animal cruelty can be a traumatic experience, with cascading negative consequences for child witnesses. According to Thompson and Gullone 2006, children who witness animal cruelty are more likely to abuse animals if the abuser is a friend or relative (or an individual to whom the child feels close – a significant other (Plant et al. 2016).
Animal abuse has serious areas of strength for a to abusive behavior at home. Abusers frequently use pets like dogs and cats as pawns to control and manipulate their victims. A companion animal can act as a lone confidant for an abused person or child in an abusive home. By abusing the animal, the abuser exploits the victim's concern for the animal. In order to prevent children and partners from reporting abuse or fleeing, abusers may threaten or abuse animals in front of them. By harming the creatures, a victimizer is sending the message that a human casualty could be straightaway. In creating a compassionate and caring society which would take benign responsibility for ourselves, each other, and especially our fellow animals and the earth, there should be a need for humane education. Humane education can play an important role in our society today for eradicating the cruelty against animals. If this pattern of violence will still exist, unreported and will continuously be silent. Let us imagine if we are the ones who are treated badly, what are we gonna feel, how would we react, and how are we gonna ask for help if we can`t speak or in short we are helpless. Animals aren`t just the ones who are affected by human activities, but human also. If this violence stay the same, the cases of traumatic experience among people will increase in numbers, most especially the children. So, how can we create or make a safety environment in that case if we humans are attacking living things that we all know will also affect the humanity?
To put a stop to this pattern of violence, let us start to put an end to the inhumanity against animals whether at home, school, work, and even at social media platforms. Let us make use of our hands by doing good deeds not just to our fellow humans but also to those who can`t speak, the animals. Humanity's voice is what matters whether you`re a child, a woman, or an old man because animals depend on us, and they trusted us to take care of them, not to harm, or hurt them. Even a little step, and a simple action can have a bigger impact as long as we don't stop to help our bestfriends (animals). Start a good deed now, if you don`t have an idea, you can contribute by supporting this petition, and soon you`ll be the one to make a petition for the animals cruelty. We never know where disasters will strike or when animals may be in need of rescue, but we know we must be ready by being a hero they need.
