“I’m writing this because this is something I care about deeply, and it won’t happen without the support of people like you. Starting a petition isn’t something I would normally do, but I was moved to do so because: Canadians are yet to recover from the overwhelming increase in interest rates by the bank of Canada last year and the beginning of this year. Canadians have been holding it in and waiting hopefully for a drop in interest rate only to wake up to an increase. The cost of people’s mortgages has doubled. Canadians are beginning to lose their houses, and others are forced to sell. Canadians are not able to feed their families anymore due to this increase. Rental costs have doubled because of the increase in interest rates. Some have become homeless. How is this increase helping the people of Canada? Would it interest the government of Canada if all the ordinary Canadians lose their houses? Nobody's pay check have received an increase to manage this interest rate increase. Fellow Canadians, please, together, let us call for the government of Canada to rapidly drop interest rates. I know I’m not alone, and together, we can make this change happen.
