Well Done The National Trust - We Applaud You

WOW we’ve had another round of great successes over the last few weeks.
We have just been notified that our Campaign has secured the support of the National Trust (England Wales and Northern Ireland) plus National Trust (Scotland) to never sell or purchase flying rings for sale in any of their outlets.
This is significant news for our seals and we applaud the National Trust.
So how did this come about?
Quite simply, it took just one email to both National Trust organisations which secured a momentous change.
You have significant power to individually bring about change. You don’t need to be a large and powerful organisation, have letters before or after your name or be a celebrity.
Theodore Roosevelt is attributed as saying:
‘Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care’
I firmly believe Roosevelt’s thoughts, and that’s what this Campaign is all about, giving a voice and a platform to those who care.
We have lots of resources for you to use on our Seal Alliance website such as guidance documents, template letters and alike so please take a browse.
The fact that you are still reading this update shows you care so please ask yourself what can I do to help.
If there’s something we’ve missed then get in touch via our Facebook Page ‘Save Our Seals from Flying Rings’ and please follow us!
Jenny and myself are gearing up for our visit to Parliament on the 17th June 2026, where a drop-in session for MP’s has been arranged to promote the campaign and to secure their individual support by signing a pledge.
This is another milestone, and if we can meet our next target of 60,000 signatures by that date, more heads will start turning.
Can you do a little more please by sharing our petition link?
Just take another look at your networks at home, work colleagues, friends, any groups you belong to, your neighbourhood and beyond as every signature counts.
We are also after your help on another UK Seal Alliance Campaign called Give Seals Space which we’ve just launched today (Bank Holiday Monday) so it’s hot off the press!
This campaign relates to the fact that despite recommendations to include seals under the protection of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, the UK Government refused.
These recommendations were made by the highly respected Joint Nature Conservation Committee and an EFRA Cross Party Committee of MPs.
We believe this is wrong and we support the Give Seals Space Campaign which is asking the Government to reverse their decision.
Will you also support this Campaign by signing and sharing this petition far and wide please: https://c.org/sqtSyp28zD
Thank you so much for your unfailing support…we really appreciate it.
