Our freedoms and rights are of paramount importance in a democratic society. One of these rights includes our ability as grown adults to make informed decisions about what we buy. It seems that Alfred Health is now dictating to Postmart Plus, products that we are permitted to purchase, infracting on this right. This problematic approach reeks of undue control and paternalism, where authorities overtly prescribe behaviors considered 'best' for individuals. As evident in recent studies, such a strategy is not only ineffective but also infringes upon the liberty of mature adults who are entirely capable of making sensible decisions (Karnani, 2017). Accordingly, we urge The Alfred to cease this unnecessary and unjust requirement, thereby exhibiting respect for the autonomy and judgement of its staff and visitors.
