We, the residents of Wichita, Sedgwick County and allies across Kansas, are calling on Mayor Lily Wu,  the Wichita City Council, the Wichita Police Department, the Sedgwick County Commission and the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office to immediately reject any agreement—past or future—that mandates cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Wichita and Sedgwick County has long prided itself as a welcoming city for immigrants and refugees.  Local cooperation with ICE would erode public safety, sow fear among our immigrant neighbors, and foster mistrust between residents and their local government.

We respectfully request a public commitment that neither Wichita nor Sedgwick County will, under any circumstance, cooperate with ICE. We further request full public disclosure and hearings before any future agreements with federal agencies—especially those involving immigration enforcement—are signed.
