Bambino Field, located behind the trade and convention centre , is under threat from plans to build a hotel in its place. This piece of land holds great personal significance, not only to me but to the community as a whole. It's more than just an open space; it’s a living testament to our history and commitment to preserving our local environment.

**Breach of Historical Trust:**
This land was gifted to the community under a 1912 legal trust, with a clear purpose: "sports, games, and park purposes". The South Okanagan Land Company, in its wisdom, handed this gift to us with the intent to maintain it as a green space. Building a hotel on this precious land not only disregards the legal trust but also the very intent of this valued community. 

**Displacement of Youth Sports:**
More than just a field, Bambino has been the stage for numerous local youth sports events, fostering community spirit and providing our youth with opportunities to participate in sports. Removing Bambino Field would displace these activities, leaving our youth without a place to gather, compete, and grow.

The plan to replace Bambino Field with a hotel is not just an attack on a single field but on the very fabric of our community's heritage, lifestyle, and future. We need to stand together to protect this historical site and ensure it remains a place for sports, leisure, and a breath of fresh air amidst our bustling city.
