The issue

As a migrant who came to Australia inspired by its rich migrant roots, the upcoming 'March for Australia' rally, scheduled for August 31, 2025, fills me with dread. Organized by Bec Freedom, Sydney rally organizer, and amplified by certain white extremist right-wing politicians, this event exposes the xenophobia I’ve personally experienced. The fear of being labeled and terrorized is not just mine but a looming threat to future migrant generations—my own children included. Australia, a proud nation of immigrants, must safeguard its legacy as a welcoming home.

Rallies disguised as nationalism often turn into platforms for hate and violence, endangering migrant communities. Reports indicate a 20% rise in hate crimes in Australia coinciding with such events, including verbal abuse, discrimination, and assaults on migrants across cities.

We cannot allow corridors of fear to grow. Our demands are:

Enforce Stricter Visa Screening in Australia:Urge the Australian government to work with intelligence agencies to scrutinize visa applications, banning individuals like Bec Freedom with a history of organizing hate rallies from entering on visitor, work, business, or retirement visas.
International Collaboration for Visa Bans:Collaborate with governments of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, India, and Vietnam to ban visitor, work, business, or retirement visas for hate organizers and associated politicians, stopping the global spread of divisive rhetoric.
Prioritize Public Safety:Empower law enforcement to monitor the August 31 rally closely and act swiftly to prevent violence against migrants.
Together, let’s urge the Australian government to stand firm against hate and violence, ensuring a safe, inclusive Australia. Sign this petition to protect our communities and secure a future where all migrants are welcome.

Why This Matters:

Migrants enrich Australia’s culture and economy.
A 20% increase in hate crimes demands action.
Safeguarding future generations preserves our inclusive legacy.
