STOP the Hamlin Southwest PD - UNP Land Use Plan Amendment!

STOP the Hamlin Southwest PD - UNP Land Use Plan Amendment!
The Issue
We, the residents of the Village Town Center in Horizon West, oppose the rezoning of our community, adjusting the planned commercial and residential area that sits above Lakeside at Hamlin. We are all aware of how the land was originally orange groves and the farmers that sold the land intended master communities that offered 'a lifestyle' to the families that moved to this area. We chose this part of Horizon West because of the plan in place offering shopping, dining, and entertainment. We do not want to live in a sea of apartments and corporate parks with strained schools, crowded roads, and insufficient services and commerce. The addition of 408 multi-family units and 81 apartments potentially brings 1,000 more cars to the area. The addition of corporate parks will bring commuters who are not vested in this area. Amending the land use will also strain the current infrastructure as intended. Again, buying homes here, we invested in a lifestyle offering shopping, dining, entertainment, and a community gathering places. We still want those offerings, and this rezoning will add nothing to our investment. Instead, it will subtract from our home values, the quality of our schools, roads, and the very lifestyle and community we were promised and invested in. We add our signatures to this petition to ask that you deny this request.
