Stop the Government from Taking Our Social Security Checks
The Issue
On March 21, 2025, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said, "If Social Security didn't send out their checks this month, my mother-in-law, who's 94, wouldn't call and complain. She'd think something got messed up, and she'll get it next month. A fraudster always makes the loudest noise, screaming, yelling, and complaining. Anybody who's been in the payment system and the processes, who knows the easiest way to find the fraudster is to stop payments and listen because whoever screams is the one stealing."
This is completely absurd. How would Lutnick respond if his monthly dividend checks from his investments were suddenly stopped? Would he have screamed at his investment bankers or would he have quietly waited for a month or two for the issue to be resolved without any response from him?
We are not part of this mythological world that Lutnick -- a man far removed from the real world -- is inventing. We are not passive! We are not fraudsters going silently into submission like his mother-in-law allegedly would do!
We are outraged citizens, deeply worried by this potential loss of vital and previously secure income guaranteed by the faith and credit of the United States Government.
Let's act up! Sign this Petition and show Lutnick that we are, indeed, screaming at him and are also, indeed, NOT FRAUDSTERS! We are parents, grandparents, sisters and brothers, friends and neighbors.
All retirees and disabled people depend, in one degree or another on the legitimately earned income from their decades of contributions into the Social Security system.
Elon Musk said Social Security is a "Ponzi Scheme." What Ponzi scheme has continued to pay its investors uninterrupted for eighty years? None! Rather than a scheme, Social Security is a sound form of repayment for our faith in the government's promise to its citizens to wisely invest our money and repay us in a timely and protected manner.
