The Issue

A distressing situation has arisen involving a 7-year-old Indian girl who is facing the terrifying prospect of forced adoption, despite her mother, Alekhya Reddy, being fit and able to provide for her. This is not just a legal or bureaucratic issue, but a deeply personal and heart-wrenching story that underscores the struggle of a mother against forces beyond her control.

Alekhya Reddy, a loving and devoted mother, has been deemed fit and healthy to care for her daughter. Despite this, the prevailing circumstances, dictated by systemic anomalies and a lack of understanding and empathy, have put this family in jeopardy. The authorities are pushing forward with the adoption process regardless of the existing bond and welfare of the child with her biological mother.

The heart of this issue lies in a system which, instead of supporting families in crisis, is inadvertently tearing them apart. Alekhya, like any mother, deserves the right to raise her child, secure in the understanding that the system is there to assist, not divide her family.

We appeal to the UK Government and the Home Office to immediately halt the adoption proceedings. The welfare of the child must be the primary concern, and in this case, that welfare is best served within her biological family, with a mother who loves her dearly and is more than capable of providing her with a happy and secure upbringing.

Please sign this petition to cease the forced adoption process and to advocate for more compassionate and fair evaluation of such cases. Your support could reunite a family and set a precedent for more humane treatment of similar cases in the future. It's crucial that the voice of reason and humanity prevails in such sensitive matters. Sign now to make a difference.
