We, the parents, carers, and members of the Preston community, demand an immediate halt to the plans forcing Corpus Christi Catholic High School to leave local authority control and join the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.
We are completely opposing this conversion due to a total lack of transparency, a failure in legal procedure, and the threat it poses to our children's education.

Why are we signing?
Zero Parental Consultation: Under the Academies Act 2010, school governors have a clear legal duty to consult stakeholders, including parents, before making a conversion decision. The school leadership has completely failed this duty. Parents have been left entirely in the dark. We were only alerted to this major structural change by the announcement of formal staff strike action.
Draining Classroom Funds: Joining a Multi-Academy Trust means school funding will be "top-sliced" to fund an extra layer of centralized trust bureaucracy. We want 100% of school funding spent where it belongs: on teachers, resources, and our children's classrooms.
Protecting Our Teaching Staff: This top-down pressure from the Lancaster Diocese has forced dedicated teachers and staff into taking industrial strike action. We stand in absolute solidarity with the NEU members striking to protect their terms, conditions, and the stability of the school. Bypassing the local community and alienating the school's own staff risks a severe drop in morale and teaching quality.

Our Demands:
Immediately pause all applications and procedures relating to the academy conversion order.
Launch an immediate, transparent, and formal parental consultation period with open, public evening meetings where parents can ask direct questions.
Listen to the staff and community rather than bowing blindly to outside diocesan mandates.
