Already, other regions with data centers have reported troubling spikes in illnesses linked to pollution. Communities living near such facilities often see rises in respiratory diseases, various cancers, and other life-threatening conditions.

Moreover, data centers require enormous amounts of water for cooling, which can deplete our local water resources, affecting agriculture and drinking supplies. This could leave our farmers and citizens grappling with severe water shortages.

Arkansas’s natural beauty—our forests, rivers, and fertile plains—must be preserved, not sacrificed for industrial gains. These data centers, if established, would bring an influx of heavy industrial activities that could devastate our precious landscapes and wildlife habitats.

We need sustainable solutions that do not put our environment and health at risk. Instead of allowing the destruction of our lands, let us focus on eco-friendly technology and harness alternatives that do not harm our communities. There are cleaner ways to grow our economy that respect and protect our natural resources and people's well-being.
