People who are unmarried and have lived together as man and wife are NOT eligible for the bereavement support payment unless they have a child or in receipt of child benefit.

Discrimination against unmarried couples but have lived together and have shared their lives together shouldn't be Discriminated against when one them pass away, the law is outdated in this scenario as a large number of the population live as if they're married or as common law man and wife, it's time the law was changed to include couples who are not married but in every aspect of their lives they effectively are .

We need to change the law it most probably affect YOU or SOMEONE you know that finds themselves Discriminated against because their partner dies and they weren't married or in a civil partnership..
