HELP US SAVE THE CONROE ISD DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM!!!

The Conroe Board of Trustees is set to vote on the Discontinuation of the Dual Language Program in all schools in Conroe ISD. We must do what we can to stop this! Sign this petition and leave a comment to voice your concerns. Join us at the Board Meeting to speak in person if possible. See details below.

Our children benefit greatly from the program and have for years. The kids that have been a part of this program have enriched their lives and expanded their educational opportunities by being able to learn in a mixed-language environment. Those students who have Spanish as a first language and those who have English as a first language have been able to lean on each other to learn their basic curriculum in both languages. Those students have made lifelong friends that they never would have met should they have been in separate English and Spanish-led classes. The program has been nothing but life-changing for many of the students. 

This agenda item was not discussed with ANY of the parents of children in the program, nor was it discussed with the teachers who have poured their hearts and souls into making the program the amazing and beneficial program it is today. The Teachers, Students, and Parents are not in favor of the cancellation of the program. And we need to make that known to the Board. 

We would like to not only invite you to join this petition to express your disproval of canceling the program but to also join us at the Conroe ISD Board Meeting on February 18th at 6:00 PM located at 3205 W. Davis Street, Conroe, Texas, 77304.  If you can't join us at the Board Meeting in person, please feel free to leave a comment voicing your disapproval and these can be communicated to the Board when we speak on Tuesday.

There is a link for a "Citizens Participation Form" that must be filled out before 3:00 PM 02/18/25. If that form is not submitted before 3:00, then a form can be manually filled out and submitted at 5:30 the day of the Board meeting.
