Our architectural heritage is being destroyed in the name of the mighty dollar. Developers are being given access to demolish our period buildings to erect inferior high rises, which are both ugly to look at and are inferior to what is being pulled down.

The picture I have posted is of a house recently demolished in Armadale, Melbourne!

This is a property epidemic which is happening across the nation and needs to be stopped. I propose this: All buildings,  residential or commercial be protected by the below law.

Anything built prior to 1949 cannot be demolished, and all architects who built properties in the 1800s to1940s be honoured for their contribution to our architectural history.

Buildings being built now are inferior and falling down in 5 years or being condemned. We should not allow these beautiful buildings to fall victim to money greedy councils and developers.

Please help me stop the visual rape and destruction of Australia's history. Stop it before it's too late and before our children have nothing beautiful to look at or to inspire them to excel to excellence!
