Stop the Destruction Downtown!

The Issue

We have to stop the City of Pampa from tearing out our bricks, eliminating parking spaces, and making downtown incommodious! Taking parking away in an area where it is already limited is asinine. The City cannot decrease the amount of spaces, then expect to increase the amount of traffic downtown. The massive semi-circle sidewalks protruding into the intersections are nothing more than safety hazards. They will prevent larger vehicles, Firetrucks and delivery trucks, from safely navigating turns. Not to mention the potential damage to smaller vehicles if they turn too sharp. Also by putting these so far into the street, they have to take out part of the bricks. As most of us know, Pampa’s brick roads were laid close to 100 years ago and are a beloved part of our town. With every brick they remove, they remove a piece of our history! Repairing sidewalks, adding trees and just making downtown more appeasing is fantastic; however, it must be functional.
