Dear Supporter
We have hit the 100,000 mark which is fantastic, thank you for signing and sharing. We have two pieces of positive news to share with you.
At long last Twane is getting the treatment for PTSD that he deserves thanks to the charity Veterans UK who have supported our campaign. This is long overdue, Twane was discharged from the army because of severe PTSD in 2007, over ten years ago. Had he been detained still this would not have been possible.
In addition Diane Abbott MP, Shadow Home Secretary has been in touch with Twane's MP to say that she will write to the Home Secretary and give her support which we are grateful for.
Also we have submitted a Freedom of Information Request to Home Office Immigration and Enforcement regarding the treatment of Commonwealth Soldiers.
On Saturday 23rd of February there will be a national Windrush Day of Action in different cities across the UK and whilst Twane is not of the Windrush generation we believe that his treatment and that of other Commonwealth soldiers in the British Armed Forces under the hostile environment is akin to the treatment of the Windrush generation. In addition, like many others of his generation, Twane is the grandchild of a Windrush generation grandparent who he used to live with here in the UK. So we will be highlighting Twane's case and others like his on Saturday. We have chosen this day as the nearest Saturday to the United Nations World Day of Social Justice.
Please help us keep up awareness of Twane's campaign by sharing this update on social media with the hashtags #TwaneMorgan and #TwaneMustStay.
Thanks and Regards
Zita
