Dear Supporters

We have received more  International news coverage and support.

The charity responsible for the   African Caribbean War Memorial which is situated in Windrush Square, Brixton, London and was established to honour African and Caribbean members of the Armed Forces who served in WWI and WWII  have contacted us to say that they fully support our campaign and that they invite Twane to be their guest of honour at the next military commemoration to take place at the memorial.

Twane's partner and mum to two of Twane's  five young children, Kirsty, sets out below why he should not be separated from them and deported;

"Twane and I have built a life together over the past 8 years and we have 2 beautiful daughters that adore him. Their father and daughter bond is very strong, our girls bring out the best in him,  when they are together it’s like a gift, that I get to see the old Twane that I fell in love with, the light hearted, playful, affectionate, comedian. I have supported Twane throughout the good and the hard times, his welfare is a priority of mine and I am petrified at the idea of him being deported to Jamaica as I know he will not have a good quality of life, as I feel his
mental health will decline and he will become even more vulnerable. We,  as a family take care of him mentally, emotionally  and at times physically. He is a recluse and a shadow of himself and that’s not the Twane I  once knew. Having PTSD and bipolar disorder makes him a nervous wreck and it doesn’t help with the deportation order lingering over his head when he goes to sign on at the immigration centre in Solihull. I  have dreaded  the phone call saying;  “They’ve got me”, I think how can I explain to our girls they can’t see Daddy anymore and now this fear has become a reality. I undoubtedly know
this will affect our daughters' quality of life as they know Mummy and Daddy as a unit.
   Twane put his life on the line and served for this country, I understand the law and I understand once upon a time he did wrong in the eyes of  the law. But he has served his sentence and has kept his head down and devoted himself to his children. He is of no threat (contrary to what the government state) to us or to anyone,  he is vulnerable and needs support and stability and we as a family need him."

As you can tell from this message from Kirsty and those of other members of his family that we have shared with you in previous updates, Twane is a loving father, he is adored by his children and Kirsty and all his family need him. Furthermore because he received no after care once he was discharged from the  British Army, he is a vulnerable man who needs his partner and loved ones who are crucial to his well being and care.

If deported he will be destitute and isolated without the care and support network he has around him in England.

This is an extract of the guidance provided by the Army Families Federation on medical discharges with less than four years service;

"Applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain

To qualify for settlement, the applicant must have been medically discharged by the MOD as a result of an injury or illness, which is attributable to service in HM Forces* and:

Where the cause was attributable to deployment in an operational theatre"

Therefore it is appalling and shocking that Twane is going through all of this, living with such uncertainty at a time that he really needs stability in order to move forward in his life together with his family.

Please can you continue to raise complaints with your MP and directly to the Home Secretary and Home Office in writing and via social media.

You can email the Home Secretary via this email address;

sj@sajidjavid.com

Please ask him not to deport Twane, to cancel the charter flight seat booked for him, to release him from detention and to grant him British citizenship pointing out the policy set out above which means Twane should have been given indefinite leave to remain and that serving in the Army caused him to experience PTSD, yet he received no after care and should not be punished and deemed to be a threat. He is a loving, caring  partner and dad to 5 children.

Then tweet  @sajidjavid to say; 'I have written to Sajid Javid to complain about the inhumane treatment & planned deportation of former British Army soldier #TwaneMorgan.
#TwaneMustStay' @ukhomeoffice

Many thanks
