Dear Supporters

We have had a tremendous response to our petition, especially in the last 24 hours with over 50,000 people signing in this period.

The situation for Twane is extremely urgent as he could be deported as soon as this week, he has been booked on a charter flight to Jamaica due to depart any time after 5pm on 1st of February and 5pm on 15th February.

It is  both disgraceful and irresponsible for the government to organise a mass deportation of people on a secretly chartered plane to Jamaica given the Windrush scandal. All such deportations were stopped last year because of this and as the outcome of current government reviews and consultations are not yet known or concluded there should be no such inhumane action by government.

Most people who are not of  the Windrush generation who are being targeted by the government for deportation, came to the UK because of a Windrush link, having a parent or grandparent here.

This is the case for Twane. His Windrush generation grandad has lived in the UK for  well over 50 years and at one point Twane lived with him.

Twane is feeling very down and his 5 British  children are distraught. This situation is not helping his conditions, bipolar and PTSD.

Please continue to keep up the pressure.

Things you can do;

Write to your MP to complain about Twane's planned deportation and the whole charter flight.

Tweet the Home Secretary and Home Office. Here is a suggested tweet;

  @sajidjavid & @ukhomeoffice
Do not deport former British Army soldier  who is bipolar & has PTSD #TwaneMorgan on a secret charter flight. His 5 children need their dad & he needs to be with family. #twanemuststay #windrushscandal

We continue to receive national & International news coverage and have received many offers  and messages of support. We thank you.

Regards

Zita
