Last night, Fatou was sneaked out of Derwentside Detention Centre and transferred to Yarl’s Wood, like a criminal, ahead of her deportation scheduled for tomorrow. This is how the Home Office treats a woman who has lived in the UK for 18 years and is loved by her community.

 

Her solicitor is working tirelessly to stop the removal, but we must be honest—we’re facing a hostile system. The Home Office hopes to overpower us with silence and secrecy.

 

But we are 24,000 strong. And we are not silent.
