The Vote to Save the Gosford Library is This Tuesday

First, a huge thank you to everyone who signed the petition to save the Gosford Library Building. Your support has been incredible, and thanks to you, the petition now has over 3,900 signatures (including the paper petition circulating in the community), and we're making real progress.
At a recent council review committee, all councillors present voted unanimously to keep the building. This is a significant step forward and a clear sign that our message is being heard. We also have a council survey that showed 76% of respondents wanted the building retained, as well as 244 individual objections submitted which did not contribute to the calculations.
The support for this building extends beyond our local community. Its heritage and history are highly valued by many in the Gosford area. The building is also highly regarded by architects across Australia, with several very significant architects adding their names to the petition because they recognize its architectural significance and want it preserved.
We've come a long way, but this fight isn’t over.
The final decision will be made at the full council meeting on Tuesday, August 26th, at the Wyong Council building in Hely Street.
We have momentum on our side, including an open letter from 34 community groups. Now is the time to remind our councillors that the community, including heritage groups, youth services, and seniors, desperately needs more community space. We must also emphasise that saving the building is supported by those who value its architectural and historical significance, from local history buffs to prominent architects and heritage experts across Australia.
