Petition Update: Gosford Library Demolition

Dear Petition Signatories,

Thank you for your support in the petition to save the Gosford Library building in Kibble Park from demolition.  Not only is there this online petition, but also a paper petition with the same wording. Your signatures have been a powerful demonstration of community sentiment.

There are more than 3800 signatures I would say the biggest number of signatories ever to be submitted to Central Coast Council. 

I am writing to inform you that this petition has been submitted as part of the official community consultation process regarding the future of the existing library building along with signatory comments. 

While the formal consultation is over, there is still time for our voice to grow. If you haven't already, please consider sharing this Change.org petition with your friends and networks, please do! Every new signature strengthens our position.

Furthermore, a significant development in the fight is the "Open Letter to Councillors" from the Better Planning Group Central Coast. This letter has been signed by 31 diverse community groups, demonstrating a powerful, united front against the demolition. This alliance of community organisations shows the widespread opposition to the council's plan.

Most importantly, there is an upcoming meeting where our presence is needed. The Council Review Committee will be holding a meeting to discuss the matter. While members of the public cannot speak at this particular meeting, our attendance is vital. A large number of community members present in the gallery will send a strong message to the councillors about the depth of public interest and concern.
