Stop the Deforestation of Hyderabad Central University Forest by Telangana Government

Stop the Deforestation of Hyderabad Central University Forest by Telangana Government
The Issue
As a concerned citizen of India, I am deeply worried about the significant deforestation activities taking place in the Central University Forest, Hyderabad, led by the Telangana government. Their pursuit for progress, while commendable, should not come at the cost of our valuable forests and wildlife.
The importance of forests for maintaining ecological balance cannot be overemphasized. Forests act as a carbon sink, absorbing approximately 2.6 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide each year (Source: FAO). Besides, they also serve as habitats for myriad species and contribute towards a significant percentage of biodiversity in India. However, rampant deforestation could lead us to the brink of catastrophic climate change and loss of biodiversity.
The assertion of the responsibility to save such a crucial ecosystem is not simply ecological but profoundly personal to me, too. It is our joint duty as concerned citizens to protect our environment, and deforestation in the name of development is an issue we should all stand against.
Therefore, I am urging everyone to join this movement. Let's urge the Telangana Government to reconsider the deforestation activities in the Hyderabad Central University Forest. Your signature can make a real difference. Sign the petition today to save the forest. Let's protect the Earth we all call home.
