AI technology has been growing at an unsettling rate. AI technology is one of the most frightening technological advancements we have had in a while and that is because of its unlimited range of use and its uncertain goal. AI technology ranges from copyrighted artwork being used in order to create a "new" Image to it being used to sexually harass anyone the operator chooses. A couple of months ago a pornographic website was brought into the attention to the public due to a twitch streamer accidentally broadcasting this website. Once the website was further inspected it showed AI generated videos using a technique called deep faking, which allows someone to put someones face onto someone completely different, to put several different popular internet personalities faces onto videos of porn. This is only one of the negative connotations that come from the existence and growth of AI technology. Another reason why AI technology is dangerous is because it is threatening to wipe out artists and maybe art as a whole. There are various different AI websites that use copyrighted handmade art work from artists to put in its program in order to make a "new" art work. People are choosing to turn to AI art instead of commissioning an artist which is leaving members of the art community worried for the future of the craft. If the rate of AI technology were to keep growing in the pace it's growing at then it would be a danger to society as a whole. AI deep faking is getting so dangerously realistic that it is almost impossible to tell what is fake. This paired up with the AI generated audio clips can lead to faked videos to ruin someones career or even fabricate incriminating evidence. There are too many cons when it comes to AI technology and we should stop it before it becomes more harmful than it already is.
