The Issue

I love my small town of Benton County, TN. It's a place where neighbors are friends and the beauty of our natural surroundings is a constant reminder of why we choose to live here. The thought of a massive data center invading our community fills me with dread. This isn't just about preserving the quaint and peaceful way of life that we've come to cherish; it's about protecting the environmental and financial health of Benton County.

As residents, we must understand the risks involved with such a significant development. Data centers consume vast amounts of energy and water resources, leading to potential negative impacts on our local environment and ecosystem. There is little to no transparency about how this center will affect the wildlife, including the species that make our county so unique and beloved.

Moreover, the financial ramifications are alarming. Construction and operation could strain local infrastructure and resources, potentially leading to increased taxes and fees for Benton County citizens. What promises seem beneficial from the outside might hide long-term economic burdens on us all.

We don’t have clear answers about who truly benefits from this project, and as constituents, we demand that the local government provide accurate, detailed, and transparent information about every facet of this initiative. Simply put, we need to be certain that our way of life and environment are not sacrificed for a project that offers more harm than good.

Join me in urging the Benton County government to reconsider. Let's come together as a community to voice our concerns and ensure that any development aligns with our values and vision for Benton County’s future. Sign this petition to let our leaders know that the proposed data center is not welcome here.
