As a local resident of Swindon, Wiltshire, I am deeply concerned about the proposed construction of a Moto Motorway Service Station just off of Junction 16 on the Westbound side of the M4 Motorway. This development threatens to disrupt our peaceful community and could potentially have negative environmental impacts. The increased traffic and noise pollution in an already very busy and congested area (despite a recent 12 million pounds revamp) would significantly affect our quality of life. Moreover, according to data from Transport for London (2019), such developments often lead to an increase in road accidents due to higher traffic volumes. 15 miles east is Membury Services, with direct access to the M4, and 17 miles west lies Liegh Delamere, again with direct M4 access, there are plenty of fuel stations around both J16 and J15, so why do we need to destroy green areas and displace wildlife for this? We need to protect our community and environment from these potential harms.
