In our community, we've always valued our natural resources and our financial stability. That's why I am deeply concerned about the construction of AI data centers in our area. These data centers are not just nodes in a technology network; they are massive consumers of electricity and water, two resources that are critical to our everyday lives.

I've learned that AI data centers are projected to significantly increase our electric bills by 2027. This is particularly alarming as many families are already struggling with the rising cost of living. These centers require a constant and substantial power supply, causing an immense strain on our local grid and potentially leading to power shortages for regular households and small businesses. AI data centers are consuming SO much electricity that we will be left with higher bills and we will not be as prioritized by our electric companies.

AI is also rapidly replacing human jobs and threatening the livelihoods of working people across countless industries. From customer service and writing to art, music, transportation, and even technical careers, corporations are increasingly turning to AI systems to cut labor costs and maximize profits. While ordinary people struggle to find stable employment and support their families, massive technology companies continue investing billions into AI expansion instead of investing in human workers and local communities. Many fear that this unchecked growth will widen economic inequality, eliminate career opportunities for future generations, and leave millions without reliable income or purpose. Communities should not be forced to sacrifice their jobs, financial security, water, and electricity so corporations can automate society for profit.
 
Moreover, the water usage by AI data centers is another major issue. Water is essential for cooling massive servers that run 24/7. In regions where water scarcity is becoming more common due to climate change, this is not just environmentally unsustainable, but morally questionable. Companies behind these centers seem more focused on maximizing profits rather than considering the vital resources they are depleting and the irreversible environmental impact they are causing.

We must raise our voices and demand accountability from these major corporations. We need them to reassess the necessity and sustainability of building AI data centers in already vulnerable areas. Investments should rather be channeled towards renewable energy solutions and technological innovations that benefit both human lives and the environment.

Big corporations should no longer be allowed the right to construct AI data centers. Why choose AI over your own kind? These corrupt businesses are costing us vital resources so THEY can make money while we suffer.  We must fight for our rights as humans to force the end of AI data centers. This is critical to us and the future of the human race. If this keeps up, there will be serious consequences.
