Petition updateStop the College Board’s Adversity Scoring on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)CB is showing cracks, but keep up the pressure!

Needless to say, the College Board is under tremendous pressure.  It was reported that CB “will ‘seriously consider’ sharing the scores with students and families.”  Nothing concrete, and no promises.  Also, knowing the bad publicity the name “adversity score” has generated, CB now calls it “environmental context dashboard” (ECB).  Dashboard?  Really?  I didn’t know that CB is now in the automotive business.  Environmental?  Is CB making electric cars now?  ECB?  Isn’t that European Central Bank?

We must keep up the pressure.  In addition to signing this petition, please also write to the White House, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Education.  Specifically, write to the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights at ocr@ed.gov.  Your letters or emails do not have to be long.  Just tell them that you are opposed to College Board’s adversity scoring.  They will listen to us.  The Education Department recently pressured Texas Tech medical school to end race-based admissions.

Meanwhile, media opinion is still overwhelmingly opposed to adversity scoring.  For those of you who have children in high school, consider taking ACT instead of SAT, as this author suggested.
