So much great stuff has been happening since Activ took over as the new provider of Noah's Ark. The Morley venue closed its doors at the weekend, and a new site for Noah’s Ark in East Victoria Park is now ready.
This relocation will join Noah’s Ark with the Activ Library, a major library for disability related information in WA, to create a new consolidated service known as the Activ Learning and Discovery Centre (ALDC).
In a statement to members and community supporters Activ said,
“We are delighted to confirm that the new venue for the Activ Noah’s Ark service has been refurbished and we are ready to move in.”
“For over 20 years, we have operated the Activ Library – which holds the largest collection of resources on intellectual disability and autism in the Southern Hemisphere. By combining with Noah’s Ark WA, we believe we can offer a state-of-the-art resource centre for Western Australians living with disability and their families.
“In order to relocate and consolidate the services there will be a three week period of closure, whilst the resources and book collections are combined into the one service.”
The combined service will open for business at 9am on Monday 30 July at 71 Jarrah Road, East Victoria Park.
The opening hours for new service will be 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 1pm every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
Specific advice and support for skill development, play and learning outcomes by professional staff will still be available on site each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2pm.
“Activ is very proud to be involved in keeping this fantastic service open. Noah’s Ark is a unique service that connects families, therapists and educators with resources and information to support the play and development of children with additional needs.”
“We look forward to introducing you to the new service at the new venue soon.”
In case you missed it, the West Australian published a great follow up story and video on the re-opening – Noah’s Ark returns!
