STOP the Closure of Small Heath Library!!!

STOP the Closure of Small Heath Library!!!
The Issue
Save Small Heath Library and stop it from closing!
Many residents in Small Heath, Birmingham, have grown up with the joy of visiting our local library in Small Heath. This shared space has been a cornerstone of our community, providing books, an opportunity to read, use the internet and holiday activities for our children, young people and wider residents. However, now our beloved local library is under the threat of closure.
The area of Small Heath already has limited resources for our residents, especially the young children and teenagers! The pool has already been closed down in Small Heath. We need access to these vital services! Do not let them deprive our kids any further!!!
The closure of our local library will result in a significant deprivation of resources and opportunities for learning, development and sharing knowledge in our community. Libraries should be invested in- not closed down!
Small Heath is amongst the most deprived wards in the city and has a high proportion of children living in poverty. It will especially impact those who do not have access to books or the internet or need a quiet place to study. It is a safe and secure place for children to do their homework and revision, especially during exam periods. The Elderly are also able to use the library to sit and read in warmth.
It is crucial that we fight to keep the library open and ensure that it remains open on Saturdays, which is essential for children who want to study or read.
So today, on behalf of our community, we are raising our voices to save our library – a place that has given us so much. We urge all responsible authorities to reconsider this decision in light of its impact on the community. Please help us to Save our Local Library! Sign and share our petition!
